How to use Kadapt: from listing photos to a finished reel
Updated October 2026
Choose a reel style and length, upload your listing photos, add the property details, review the plan, then approve the render quote. When the reel is ready, watch it through before downloading. This guide explains the choices that affect the result and your credits.
First, choose Photo Reel or AI Video
The Photos step asks First, what kind of reel? The two options use the same listing photos in different ways. AI Reels are labelled AI Video in the app.
| Choice | What it does | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Photo Reel | Animates your still photos with pans, zooms and transitions. | You want movement over the original images and a lower-credit picture render. |
| AI Video | Generates camera motion using the photos as references. | You want generative motion and can review the result for altered property details. |
Photo Reels offer lengths from 10 to 60 seconds. AI Video offers lengths from 10 to 30 seconds; its render quote also depends on Fast or Professional quality. Neither style requires a separate membership: your credits pay for the option you choose.
Make your first reel
- Choose the style and length before uploading. Follow the photo range shown in the app. For a 15-second Photo Reel, a handful of clear shots is a useful starting point; no more than seven can fit because each photo needs at least two seconds on screen. AI Video has its own limits, shown for the chosen length and quality.
- Upload your photos and choose the order. Automatic selection lets the planner choose the photos that fit. Select Use every photo if you want to keep the exact set and order, within the limit displayed in the app. Check any upload or photo warnings before continuing.
- Choose a template and add the listing basics. Property Montage, Listing Teaser and Just Sold give the plan a starting shape. Add the address or title, price, beds, baths and relevant features. Check those facts against the listing when you review the script.
- Review the plan. Check the photo sequence, effects, captions, narration and music. Edit the words and shot choices before rendering. Planning and photo analysis can use credits during preparation; approving the render is a separate step.
- Check the render quote, then approve. The quote includes the picture render and a voiceover estimate if selected. For AI Video, compare Fast and Professional before approving. If the app asks you to accept a revised quote, review that amount too.
- Review the finished take and download. Processing time varies by style, length and queue. Watch the whole reel, check property details and captions, listen to the narration, and make sure any stamp is appropriate before posting to Reels, TikTok or Shorts.
Photo Reel moves over your actual images; AI Video generates new motion and can change details. For either style, check crops, text, room order and listing claims. For AI Video, also compare fixtures, furniture, windows and room layout with the original photos before publishing.
Understand the credits before you commit
A 15-second Photo Reel uses 5 picture credits. Narration adds credits based on the script, and preparation such as planning and photo analysis is separate. A plan-picker reel count is an illustration of renders from prepared plans, rather than a promise of how many new listings you can prepare and finish.
Longer Photo Reels use more picture credits. AI Video costs depend on length, quality and the shots in the plan; use the quote for your actual project. Generating another take or updating a finished reel can also use credits. Check the amount shown before confirming each paid action. See pricing and plan allowances for the current subscription options.
Adjust the plan and finished reel
Photo selection and order
Drag photos into the sequence you want, or use automatic selection to let Kadapt choose. Use every photo keeps the selected set and order; if it does not fit, choose fewer photos or a longer supported length. Our shot-sequencing guide helps you decide what to show first.
Templates and effects
Review the camera moves and transitions offered for your chosen reel style. Photo Reel uses movement over still images; AI Video supports generative camera moves. Choose effects that suit the room and the photos rather than assuming every effect works with both styles.
Script and captions
Edit the voiceover script and on-screen captions in the plan. Keep claims factual and captions readable on a phone. Use style notes for preferences such as “lead with the pool”, then check the resulting plan. See our fair-housing caption guide for language to review before publishing.
Voice, music and stamps
On a finished reel, Update reel can change audio, captions or the overlay stamp and save a new take while reusing the pictures where possible. Review the update price before confirming. A longer script may need trimming or a longer reel; changing the picture sequence requires a new render. Keep the original take so you can compare the results.
Another take
You can render another take from the plan and compare it with previous versions. Another render is a paid action: check the quote rather than treating it as a free edit. Download the take you have reviewed and want to publish.

Common questions
Should I choose Photo Reel or AI Video?
Photo Reel animates your actual still photos with pans, zooms and transitions. AI Video generates camera motion using your photos as references. Choose Photo Reel for a lower-credit edit of the original images; choose AI Video for generative motion and check the result for changes to property details.
How many photos do I need?
Choose the reel style and length first, then follow the suggested photo range shown in the app. A Photo Reel gives each selected photo at least two seconds: a 15-second reel can use up to seven photos. AI Video limits depend on length and render quality. Uploading more photos does not mean they will all fit.
How long does Kadapt take to make a reel?
You add photos and listing details, review the plan, then approve the render quote. Processing time depends on the reel style, length and current queue. Check the project for progress and review the finished take before downloading.
Can I change the voice or music after rendering?
Yes. Update reel creates a new take with changed audio, captions or stamp while reusing the rendered pictures where possible. It is a paid update, separate from generating new pictures. If a script is too long, trim it or use a longer reel and check the new quote.
What does the Kadapt trial include?
New accounts receive 25 signup credits without a card. The 14-day trial adds 340 credits with a card. Credits cover preparation and rendering; the render quote is not the total cost of preparing a new listing. A 15-second Photo Reel uses five picture credits, plus narration if selected. Planning and photo analysis are separate.
